Apreco Shortlisted for Made in The Midlands Awards
Insider’s annual showcase of the region’s top manufacturers has received its highest-ever number of nominations.
Made in the Midlands Awards 2018 has had a total of 71 entries from 51 companies, compared to 41 from 27 last year. The judges have since whittled this down to a shortlist of 58 from 47 companies, which is shown below.
The winners will be named at a black tie dinner on 10 May at Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham.
Insider business editor Ian Griffin said: “This is brilliant. We’ve almost doubled the number of companies who entered last year’s awards. As a result, Made in the Midlands has unveiled its biggest-ever shortlist.
“This promises to be a fantastic and inspiring evening celebrating what the Midlands is best at – designing and making fantastic things.”
Speakers on the night are Steve Morris, managing director of Morgan Motor Company, who will talk about the Worcestershire-based luxury brand’s new electric car, and Alan Yee, engineering director at Warwick-based Contechs, who designs electric and autonomous vehicles for major manufacturers.
The event will be attended by senior figures within the industry.
The judges were Chris Innes of Contechs; manufacturing consultant Rachel Eade; Ken Young of the Manufacturing Technology Centre; the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing’s Carl Perrin and EEF’s Charlotte Horobin.
